CHRISTMAS PIZZA

We have created an easy pizza to cook for people who love Christmas and pizza.

Ingredients:

- Pizza base              

- Nougat

- Tomato

- Cheese

- Thyme

- Salt

- Pepper

- Chocolate

- Parsley

- Butter

- Beer

- Shortbread Cookie

- Mandarin

- Oil

These are all the ingredients.

First of all, put all the basic ingredients on the pizza base and then cook it in the oven for 3 minutes. After that, put all the other ingredients onto the pizza. Put it in the oven five minutes more.

Finally you'll have your wonderful pizza finished and you can start to eat.

Catalan Christmas Traditions

Here in Catalonia, people generally celebrate 3 different parties: Caga Tió, Santa Claus and the Wisemen.

Caga Tió: The Tió is a small log which comes to your house at the beginning of December and it is fed until 24^th December when children hit it with a stick while they sing a song and then they cover it with a blanket and it gives them presents.

Santa Claus: Santa is an old men with a white beard who brings presents to children. He enters through the chimney on Christmas’ Eve and then we open Santa’s presents on 25^th December.

The Wisemen: The Wisemen are three men who come from Orient by camel and bring with them presents for all kids who behave well. The Wiesmen are: Melchior, who is the white one, Gaspar, who is the red-haired one and Balthasar who is the black one. They leave the presents on 5^th January and kids open them the following morning.

HOW WE CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS IN CATALONIA

Today, that Christmas is near, people are decorating their houses to get them ready to have guests.

Here in Catalonia some of our traditional things are to hit a log because it gives us some presents. Another tradition is eating a kind of chocolate called «turró».

One of the most famous dishes at Christmas is soup because when it’s cold, people like something hot to eat.

Some famous characters of Christmas are Santa Claus and The Three Kings.

Santa Claus gives you presents on 24^th December but you open them on 25^th December. The Three Kings bring you presents on 5^th January but you open them on the 6^th January.

We think Christmas is a good time to enjoy with your family and meet your relatives that live far away from you so you have to live the Christmas moment.

CHRISTMAS FILM

The Day Before Christmas is a film that we recommend to watch on Christmas Day with your family.

This film was made in 1993 by Tim Burton.  Jack Skellington, the main character, is a skeleton.

In the city where the protagonist Jack lives, it is always Hallowen until one day when a portal opens to a place where it’s Christmas and that makes Jack believe in Christmas and fall in love.

For this reason, we recommend that you watch it because it is a movie for six-year-old children and there may be parts where you feel scared.

GAMES FOR PS4

Fortnite: The game consists of shooting and eliminating the opposite, building stairs and small cabins.

In the game you appear in a bus you have to jump (you can see where to jump through the map) when landing you appear in a virtual ground that is getting smaller. You have to move forward so that you do not take over the storm.

Call of Duty WWll: The game is to shoot at the start. There are several game models (multiplayer, campaign, zombies ...). The game is packed in the Second World War and it is played: you can choose the map, the weapon, the robots (virtual people) and start playing. You can also play online with your friends.

CLUEDO

Cluedo is a game for family and friends.

In the game where a millionaire has invited to his house six people from different places, but he died. The players must find out who killed him and with what weapon and where at the house.

In this game can play two to six players and you have two dice and some cards (It depends on how many players). You must throw the dice, and it depends on the number you have landed on, you can move forward and you can go to the kitchen, a bedroom, dining room, toilets, or the garage. When you arrive to the room, you can ask about the person, the weapon and the place. Every turn you ask and find out who killed the millionare.

CARNIVAL

Every year, forty days before Easter the carnival festival takes place in Brazil. This tradition began in Roman Catholic times because it was the moment when Catholics removed meat from their diet until Easter. Since then, this tradition has continued until nowadays, when we know it as a festival. In Rio de Janeiro it is usually celebrated with parades and music like samba, marchinhas, pop and rock.

Last year approximately two million people went to Rio de Janeiro's carnival to enjoy the carnival because this is probably the most important festival of Brazil. The society of Brazil invests a lot of money in creating awe-inspiring floats. However, it is also celebrated in other countries and cities like: Venice, Barcelona, Tenerife… It has such influence that it is even celebrated in our village. Every school presents a float, choreography and a costume related to one topic. At the end of the day there’s a competition and the winners have a reward.

Personally, we love this festival and really enjoy taking part on it.

OUR TRIP TO NEW YORK

Travelling to New York was a great experience and we would like to repeat it if we could.  We went there last year on summer with our family. We spent two weeks there.

First of all, we visited an art gallery on Manhattan. There were beautiful portraits of famous people, some collages that were impressive and still live pictures but that ones were a little bit dull. One day, we were walking around Brooklyn and we saw a powerful pavement art. We also walked around Bronx where there were many graffities.

Another day, walking around Central Park we saw The Statue of Liberty. Then, we decide to go up on it and from there we could see all New York.

That night, we were on China Town. That wasn’t a very good experience because someone stole our camera with all the photos that we had done. The following day, we went to Little Italy and there we ate some delicious pasta. We love Italian food! Going to these departments was really interesting because we could see different cultures inside one city.

Other places that we visited were some museums, buildings, we went shopping and we did a lot of more things. Obviously, we also took the subway and the typical yellow taxi to move around the city!!!

Those are some of the things that we did last summer in New York. It was an unforgettable and fantastic experience that we enjoyed a lot. We hope you like it and that you encourage to go there.

SCHOOL

Today we are going to talk to you about a thing that we and lot of teenagers are in complete disagree. The thing is: we have to start choosing what do we want to study and what do we want to be, and usually teenagers of our age don’t know what to do so we are really lost. We mean how the society want us to already know what we want to be in twenty years.

We think that we should start thinking in what to be, yes, because we don’t have all the time of the world to study or start to work and if we don’t start thinking now we won’t have time never. But we don’t have any support or someone to talk with or give advice to us about the subjects we are best in and the works we can do with these subjects.

Plus, we don’t know what types of work are there, the ones with more success and things like that.

Even some teenagers have anxiety or a lot of stress, we are always under pression because of the society.

In resume, we think our teachers should start talking with us before making us choosing.

IS OUR DIET HEALTHY?

A healthy diet consists of eating a variety of food that give you the necessary nutrients to keep you healthy, feel good and with energy. It is important to have a good diet, but do not forget to combine this with physical exercise.

The question “Is our diet healthy?” may be a very specific question, but in general I think we do not have a healthy diet. Many people eat things that carry many unhealthy ingredients and this is what food companies do for their benefit. Our food is getting worse and less natural. Many people eat fast or junk food.

In America, because of junk food, one of four people are obese. A well-known company that sells a lot of junk food could be McDonald's. In contrast, in other countries such as Africa, people die of hunger.

IS GRAFFITI ART OR A CRIME?

Is graffiti an amazing piece of art or is it only a crime that destroys the streets? I’m sure that a lot of people ask this question every day while they are walking on the street.

We had asked a few people about this topic and they gave us their opinion:

“I think the graffiti is a great thing to do when you are stressed. If you love painting and drawing, why can’t you show your ability? I’m one of the people that make graffiti in the streets and I really enjoy that later people talk about my drawings. I definitely won’t paint house’s walls. I don’t understand why people think that it is making the city ugly or contaminated.”  Marta, 15 years old

“My town has a lot of graffiti. I hate them because I think that the place where I live has criminals and the tourist won’t visit it. When I see people doing a graffiti I tell them that later they will pay for that wall. I think that people who like painting and drawing can do exhibitions of their art but shouldn´t destroy a wall that belongs to everybody who live in that town.” Elena, 48 years old

In our opinion, some graffiti are great and can be real inspirations for all the people that are walking on the street but we also think that there are graffiti that are really unnecessary because they don’t favour the city. Everybody is free to express what they want to tell to the society by art but by also respecting the law.
