What is the Castanyada?

The Castanyada is a tradition from Catalonia that is celebrated on October the 31^st. The legend tells that in the Montseny (a mountain), a castanyera lives , and only during this day she leaves her house to give people her chestnuts.

To celebrate this tradition, we eat chestnuts and panallets. Panallets are like little ball shaped cakes and sometimes they contain chocolate.

What is Halloween?

Halloween is a celebration from the USA and the UK. It is said that during this day, dead people come back to the earth and talk with their families. It is celebrated the same day as our Castanyada.

FILM REVIEW - IT

It is a horror film. It was made in 2017. The actors are: Bill Skardard (IT) who is the protagonist and performs the clown, Jackson Robert Scott (GEORGE) who is the child who got lost when he went to play with his paper boat and the small boat fell in the sewer, and Jaeden Lieberther (BILL) who is George’s brother.

The film is about a lot of children who disappear in the town and a group of teenagers who find out what is happening. They search information about the town and they discover a urban legend. They say this legend is false because it is invented.

We like this film because it has funny moments and frightening moments too. If you like this type of films, you can go to see it.

HALLOWEEN

Halloween is a typical   American and British tradition. This is a very popular and international celebration.  It is celebrated on 31^st October.

People usually wear scary costumes, for example: they dress like a zombie, a ghost or a scary clown. People often go to do trick or treat. This consists of ringing the bell of the houses and saying trick or treat to obtain some sweets.

If the people in the house don’t give sweets, the kids will probably throw eggs to the house.

We like it because teenagers have a lot of fun and we spend some time with our friends.

THE LITTLE MURDERER

Once upon a time on 31st October, in a small village with few inhabitants there was a solitary house in the outskirts. A strange family lived there. The parents had four children; Lily, Melissa, Robert and Charles, the smallest of the siblings.

That night at twelve o'clock Charles got up and picked up a knife from the kitchen. First, he went to Lily and Melissa's bedroom and killed them cruelly. He did the same with his brother Robert. He left his parents for the end and he was merciless with them. 

The next day, the police found the bodies of all the family in the house but they never knew where Charles was. 

Nowadays no one lives there because all the town warned the families that were living there against the little murderer and the big murder.

There are some families that have lived there who claim that they have seen a child running around the house.

BARCELONA, a city to visit

Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia. You can visit La Sagrada Familia. It’s a cathedral that was designed by Antoni Gaudi. It isn’t finished yet but it will be finished in 2028. Then you can go for a walk in Parc Güell. The most famous sculpture in the city is there and it’s a dragon. It was made by the same architect who designed La Sadrada Familia.

Then you can have lunch in the harbour. There you can have seafood or taste their “paella”. After that, you can visit Maremagnum where you can go shopping. To travel around Barcelona you can go by: train,underground, bus, taxi and tram.

So we hope that you’ll enjoy Bacerlona and have a good time there.

PARIS, a city to visit

Hi readers!

Today we will recommend a place to visit. The place that we are recommending is Paris, the city of love.

In Paris there are a lot of things to do, like visiting the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre Museum where the Mona Lisa is located. There is also the most famous theme park in Europe, Disneyland Paris. You can also visit Versailles Palace, Luxemburg Gardens or the Champs du Mars.

Moving in Paris is easy because there is a lot of public transport. Definitely, you have to visit Paris almost once in a lifetime. You’ll see that we tell the truth.

TV SHOWS: How I Met Your Mothe

This TV show was released in 2005 in the USA. It has nine seasons and two hundred and eight chapters. It’s about a man called Ted who explains to his sons how he met their mother. Every chapter is a different story that shows his daily life before he met his wife.

The main characters are Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris), Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor), Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smudlers), Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan) and Marshal Eriksen (Jason Segel).

The series has won two awards, an Emmy and People’s Choice Award.

Our opinion:

Raquel - I started watching this TV show last week. From the first moment I got addicted to it, because it’s very funny and entertaining. I recommend it to everyone who wants to spend a great time watching a TV show and they don’t know what to see.

Ismail - In my opinion “How I met your mother” is a great TV show especially for those people who like watching TV shows that you can follow without having to watch every single chapter. It has a really good cast and the characters are so funny that you won’t be able to stop laughing. However, a nine-season TV show might get some people tired of it. What I mean is that the series has got one hundred and ninety-two chapters and not everybody has enough time to see it complete. That’s more than eighty hours!
